Balance transfer cards vs consolidate credit cards, suggestions for best company Thank you LB
Terry Says
When you are talking about "consolidating" a card, you are basically talking about transferring a balance to another card -- or maybe transferring balances from more than one card. That can be done -- up to a point! So start with your largest balance and try to transfer it to a card that has low rates or a zero rate for the longest period of time. Also check on any balance transfer fees. Just make sure you use that "grace period" to PAY DOWN your balance. For sure, after the grace transfer period expires and they know they have you in their clutches, the rate will jump up again. And then you likely won't be able to do another transfer.
