Ask Terry Questions credit monitoring

credit monitoring

By Terry Savage on September 16, 2017 | Credit/Debt

If you put a freeze on your credit report and also have credit monitoring, will you be made aware if someone tries to access your credit report while the freeze is on?

Terry Says

No, that is not part of the service.  It is just a firewall -- keeping others from getting your credit report, until you lift the freeze, or lift it "selectively" by giving a credit grantor (perhaps a mortgage company as you refi) the PIN you are given by the credit bureau.
