Disposing of men’s magazines

By Terry Savage on December 11, 2016 | Wild Card

Hi Terry, An awkward but serious question... Like a lot of men, I have a collection of Playboy and Penthouse magazines. I do not want them anymore. I'm pretty sure (from visiting flea markets) that they are worth maybe 5-25 cents apiece. Not worth the effort in trying to sell them. I would love to find a place to donate them. I called a VA hospital and was told that they are not allowed to accept such material. I hate to just throw them in the trash. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank Terry.

OK, well you said to take you seriously -- but indeed this is the most awkward, as well as unusual question I have ever received!  And my answer runs the risk of being both sexist and ridiculous!  However, and assuming you would like a tax receipt for your donation, I have managed to find just one organization that might be delighted to receive your gift.  It is called "Magazines for Troops" and if you click on the highlighted text you will get to their website.  It seems this is exactly what they are looking for!
