Ask Terry Questions financial adviser, Yes or No

financial adviser, Yes or No

By Terry Savage on February 28, 2017 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I see questions about whether or not to work with a "financial adviser" being asked all the time. My "learned the hard way" advise: DON'T! If you absolutely want to spend your money on "advise" go FEE ONLY. Most of the "financial advisers" working for/with Financial Firms are merely Sales Agents! Do some homework. Stay informed. Follow Terry's advise . .... and know what you are doing and why!

OK, this isn't a question.  But it IS good advice from a reader!  And I like the endorsement! Also, here's a reminder of how to find a trusted financial advisor.  Either go to www.CampaignforInvestors.org -- to learn about what questions to ask, what fees to expect, and get links to the disciplinary history of brokers and "financial advisors."    Or go to www.feeonly.org -- the website of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors -- the "fee-only" advisors association.
