student loan

why not discuss lost paper work in student loan collections? many loans are not collectable because of failure, of plaintiff to produce supporting evidence.

Terry Says

That is starting to be a HUGE problem for the collection agencies.  It's estimated that roughly $5 billion in loans might not be collectible because the proper documentation has been lost.  This is primarily the case with private loans made to students at for-profit colleges (beauty schools, technical colleges, etc).  But it is reminiscent of the mortgage crisis, in which many foreclosures were cancelled for lack of proper paperwork. What a mess!
