Bonds 50/50?

By Terry Savage on March 19, 2020 | Investments

In today’s column you suggest not to “own” bonds, even with the government financial help.. My retirement fund ( retired one year (67 yrs old) ago) is set for 50/50 ratio.. Would I want to cash in a 30 to 40 % of the bond side ? I am good with waiting on the stock side to rebound eventually.

You figured it out. The stocks will mostly and eventually recover. Bonds could face bigger losses. So at this point, raise cash from the bond side of your portfolio. Enough for living expenses/ RMDs for at least three years.
