This kind of investment is a bet on future inflation — which may actually happen, given the kind of “liquidity” — money — the Fed is creating. But first we have to get to that future. And in the interim real estate investors worry about collecting rents, and commodity investors (think oil) are worried about the immediate economic slowdown in our future.
