re Stimulus Checks — deduction for owed taxes?

By Terry Savage on March 31, 2020 | Wild Card

My 2019 tax return was intercepted because I owe the IRS for not having enough withheld during a period of unemployment and not accounting for a 401K hardship loan that I thought turned into income when I got terminated so I thought it was included on my W-2 from my former employer. Will my stimulus check be intercepted by IRS like my 2018 tax return or will it be direct deposited to my bank?

Terry Says

You will still get your check. The only deductions will be for those who owe child support — NOT back taxes.
