Stimulus check for 23 year old daughter
I am a widow and my 23 year old daughter is a full time college student. I claimed her on my 2019 tax return which I submitted in February, (before governemnt talks about stimulus checks). Is there any way she can receive the stimulus check?
She seems to fall through the cracks. In retrospect, I wish I hadn’t claimed her, she would have received much needed assistance. The tax benefit I received was minimal.

Sorry, lots of people are stuck in that situation. Now that the IRS knows she was claimed as a dependent on your 2019 return it will be impossible for her to get a stimulus check. Since it won’t impact you much, you can try filing an amended return online, leaving her off. Then later she can file using this link — and try to get her own. But only after the IRS acknowledges receiving your new return. And that’s still less than a 50/50 chance!
