Stimulus check to spouse, if husband owes child support

Hi there! I read this q&a and was wondering if you had heard back from her? Or did you find out any other news?? I’m jis trying to wait patiently just like everyone else bit just curious (: thanks for your time!

Gosh, I’ve answered this many times. I have no idea who wrote this law, or how that part about child support got stuck in there, but the law says if someone owes child support he/she does not get a stimulus check. Worse, if he/she files a joint return with a subsequent spouse, neither gets a stimulus check, nor do their children! So in that case, the solution is to file married filing separately, with the “new” spouse taking the children as dependents.
