stimulus check to deceased
you mentioned on radio interview on wgn that checks to deceased do not have to be returned. IRS website says they should and gives instructions. Do you agree with IRS now?

There is going to be a HUGE legal debate over this issue, because the way the law is written it says “anyone who filed a 2018 or 2019 return” and prohibits clawbacks for mistakes. AND because many payments actually went out with the word “deceased” in the payee line!
We will have to see what happens!
