trusts
Hi Terry
Love to listen to you on WGN! I am 51, never married no kids, house paid off money in savings, 401K, IRA’s and HSA and gladly no debt. I feel good about myself 🙂
I want to put together a Living Trust which will be pretty simple I plan to leave all my stuff to WWF and PETA, my way of helping the world. All accounts already have them as my beneficiaries. My question is what do you think of going to a lawyer to do it vs an online form or something like Suzie Ormans forms which are a way less expensive option?
Thanks so much for what you do!

I have NEVER suggested that people do an online estate plan for the simple reason that when they figure out what was done wrong, you won’t be around to fix it!!
You’ve prospered by doing the RIGHT thing all the way along. Congratulations to you. Don’t start cutting corners now!!
And by the way, that “estate plan” should include a healthcare power of attorney (who will handle your decisions if you can’t); a living will (end of life directions) and even a revocable living trust for your assets so someone you trust can make important decisions if you are alive but incapacitated. Get an estate planning attorney to do this for you!
