I am 64 my wife is 58 her social security benefits will be higher than mine can I start collecting hers instead of mine. What would be the positives and negatives

Terry Says

NEITHER of you should start collecting SS until you reach your FULL Retirement Age — 67!
Don’t even think about it now– just keep working for another 9 years! And you can’t collect on her record anyway, until she starts collecting. Concentrate on working and saving up more money for retirement.
