Portforlio Mix for Seniors who don’t need Immediate additional income but want a Portfolio with less stocks

By Terry Savage on September 09, 2020 | Investments

Should seniors who don’t need immediate income move some stock investments to bonds? If not bonds, what are choices beyond stocks for a more balanced portfolio?….With such low income rates and warnings against bonds, what are alternatives?

Terry Says

Basically, just a more conservative “equity-income” fund, which includes high dividend paying stocks and some high quality bonds. You can find them them at Fidelity, Vanguard, and T. Rowe Price. Otherwise, you have to settle for “chicken money” CDs or MM funds, which aren’t paying anything these days — but you won’t lose money!
