Contacting Gov. Pritzker about Unemployment
It looks as though my unemployment has run out. But I thought people who had unemployment were suppose to get the extra 300.00 a week? I have to have a back surgery in march. I’ve been out of work since last march. I can’t have no income, is there anything I can do? Please help me I am scared I will have nothing.

The extension until March 14th is supposed to happen automatically. If you don’t get a check within the next two weeks, I have two suggestions — neither of which is optimal.
First, give your phone number for a callback. That could take weeks. Hopefully by then the system will catch up with you.
Second, try to report the lost benefits as FRAUD. But you’ll need another, different phone number. Consider buying an extra inexpensive “burner’ phone and carry it with you — in case they call back on that one.
And finally, write to the Governor! Actually, you CANT write to the governor, because no email is posted for him.
The phone number to allegedly get to the governor is 217-782-0244.
But don’t expect to get through, even to leave a message.
The Governor’s press secretary is Jordan Abuddayeh and her email is: Jordan.Abudayyeh@Illinois.gov
And her phone number is: (312) 533-5950
