Retirement savings allocation
I will be 67 in April and my husband just turned 60. He works for a junior college , has a portable SURS pension($980k) and would like to retire in August. I work for a large university health organization and have a 493b ( $185k). We have a few undecided issues- 1) should we use my 403b to boy off our mortgage (approx$139k) . 2) let State of Illinois distribute a monthly payment to us or roll the pension into other investments . My monthly SSN is $2,700. We think if we pay off the mortgage, we will have only taxes to worry about when we get rid of the $2300 monthly mortgage. How do you find a retirement planner who is certified and not just a financial planner after our money?

Glad you asked. On the top right corner of my website is a link to Wealthramp.com Or just click on the highlighted text. You will be matched with a carefully chosen, fee-only, FIDUCIARY financial planner — one who puts your interests first, and is not selling you stuff. As I was reading your question, I planned to give you this link. Very glad you knew that this is an important process, and asked about planners.
