Investing in Ibonds for senior

By Terry Savage on November 19, 2021 | Chicken Money

I’m a senior and would like to know if it’s a good idea to buy saving bonds

Terry Says

Savings bonds are safe — BUT you will be locking up your money for 5 years. Temporarily, the I-bonds pay a much higher rate than cds in a bank or a money market account. So if you have some cash you know you won’t need for a while, go ahead and buy them — knowing the rate could drop in future years. Otherwise stick with the bank accounts, even though they don’t pay much. Their rates will eventually rise, too.
