Personal items that you would like to give to specific relatives

Would it be a good idea to write out (in cursive) a list of items you would want a family member to receive upon your death? If so, should it be notarized to make it more legal?

Terry Says

No. That won’t be legally binding. You need to consult an estate-planning attorney in your state and prepare a WILL, name an executor, and have your instructions made legally binding after your death. Search for an estate planning attorney in your area at www.FindLaw.com.
