IRMAA adjustments
Good morning, Terry. Thank you for considering our question.
We recently received notice from the Social Security Administration that based upon our 2021 MAGI, our part B and D IRMAA in 2023 will be close to $200 each per month. Thankfully, we expect our 2022 MAGI to be about the same.
But, we intend to retire at the end of 2022, and our 2023 income will go below the IRMAA thresholds.
Is this upcoming retirement and expected reduction in income sufficient to appeal to social security administration to ask for a new decision about our IRMAA?
Thank you!

You’ll have to wait until that happens to request a revision. It would likely start in 2024.
But you can try to send in the forms. Read this:
