SS errors
I have not rexceived a letter from SS but after reading your article, I am a bit worried I may receive one. I had to medically retire from teaching June2021. I immediately applied for SS Disability. I was accepted Dec. 2021. I am also receiving a disability retirement check from teaching. Is SS going to come asking for money back from me?
Also, does SS not do backpay anymore? In my case the period between June and December.

Yours isn’t quite a SS horror story — yet! I am still collecting them and working with economist Larry Kotlikoff to get something done at the SSA.
BUT, I strongly suggest you go to www.MaximizeMySocialSecurity.com and for $39 run the calculator now to see what benefits you SHOULD be getting now, and will be legally getting when you reach full retirement age. That’s the only way to know for sure and to make plans.
