I have phone stock in 5 different companies……the rate of return is very low ….should I sell & invest in T bonds for a better rate ….? …..I’m 83 & looking for better short term investment……thank you

That is a HUGE question — with no way to answer it, since that depends a lot on your entire personal situation.
1. Do you have big gains in the stock? If so, and you sell, it could raise your income (and even increase your Medicare Part B premiums!)
2. Will you need the cash at some point in your lifetime, or are you planning to leave the shares to your heirs? (If so, they will –under current law — pay NO tax, since their cost will be the value at the date of your death.)
3. What other assets do you have — and do you have enough other income to live well without selling?
