Low risk investments
I am helping an 85 year old friend with her investments. She is risk adverse, so this past couple of years most of her funds were in CDs paying around 5% (as well as some nice returns from I bonds, thanks to you). Now that the interest rates are going down, what would you suggest? Thank you! PS I love listening to you on WGN.

I suggest she stick with her insured CDs. At this stage of life there is no reason to take risks with her money. If there’s any left over, her heirs can make their own decisions based on their own risk tolerance!
