ssa deposit question
Hi Terry,
Much to my surprise this morning, I discovered a large deposit in my bank account from the SSA. I checked the SSA.gov website for my account, and I did not find anything about this payment. The benefit letter online says zero. Any thoughts on this? I’m going to refrain from paying down my debt or going on a spending spree until I hear back. Thanks! Always appreciate your information on The Morning WGN news.

If you were collecting reduced SS because you also receive a public service pension, you now get the full benefit. And separately, they also deposited the total of the reductions going back to Jan, 2024!
Remember, you’ll have to pay taxes on this amount, so don’t spend it all!
