Finding an advisor that doesn’t want my money

By Terry Savage on August 14, 2025 | Financial Planning / Retirement

Hi Terry,
My husband and I listen to you on WGN all the time. We are in our early 50’s and thinking about retirement. He is an electrician so has a pension. We are happy with were all our money is at. Most in Fidelity. We’ve met with Fidelity advisors but that is not what we are looking for. We need someone who we can discuss our plans for now and the future and tell us how much we need. And maybe how we can use some of the money now to do a few things to our house. I think we have plenty of money for retirement but not enough money right now. Anyway, we need an advisor who can discuss the right way to handle our money and maybe some tips. But not on how to invest. Hopefully, that makes sense. We are hoping you can point us in a direction. I have no idea who to call.
Thanks so much

If you listen to me regularly, you know I recommend using only a fee-only FIDUCIARY advisor. And I don’t recommend individual advisors. Instead read this:

I trust Pam 100% to match you with one or more of these Fiduciaries — people you can trust completely. It’s like Match.com for money! Only there’s a lot more careful vetting of the match! Try it and let me know what you think. This is the only way I can be sure you’ll be in good hands.
