Social security

My wife was born in 1947 and took her SS early starting when she was 62 y/o. I was born in 1955 and I waited until my full retirement age of 66 years and 2 months before I took SS. If I pass away before my wife, can she get part of my SS earnings? We have been married for over 20 years. My ss payments are significantly more than hers.

Terry Says

If you were married at least 9 months at the time of your death, she will get your full benefit — assuming yours is larger than hers.
