Hello Terry,
My husband is 65 and is getting social security
I’m 60 and just started getting Disability social security
My question is if he passes away first, what portion will I get and would I have to wait until I’m 65?
If I go first, does he get anything?

You could take his benefit early, but it would reduce yours. And since you are already getting SSDI, I would think you’d want to collect that until your full retirement age (67) and then collect his unreduced benefit. I hope he lives that long and it’s a decision you don’t have to make. But if he is alive, you will get either your full benefit — or half of his, whichever is larger, as long as he is alive.
