Lost bonds from my mother

By Terry Savage on March 29, 2026 | Wild Card

My mother passed away in 1989. At that time, my brother and I had six EE bonds, each worth $500. Unfortunately, my brother has since passed away, and the bonds are now lost. They were never cashed. How can I claim the money from these bonds? I listen to you on WGN.
Thank you,

Terry Says

Sorry, but these were “bearer” bonds — at the time. No record of owning them means you have no way to claim them now.
