When am I requireed to process my will through a probate court?

The purpose of probate is to transfer title to financial assets designated in a will. So if you leave your home, or your bank account, or any asset (other than a retirement account or life insurance, which have named beneficiaries), then your executor must go through the probate process in order to distribute your assets.
