Where to invest?
Hi, married and coming into $80k from property sale. I am retired, wife is working. Looking for advice in investing this money, cd, ira, gold, other ? Look forward to your opinion. Thanks. BTW love you on WGN. Thanks again .

If I were your financial advisor (which I’m not) I’d start by asking these questions:
How much do you have in savings for retirement?
Do you have any debt that should be paid off with this money?
What is your risk tolerance? (How much of this money are you willing to lose?!!!)
Have you done a spending budget for when your wife retires?
Does she have her own retirement assets?
Do you have a will or revocable living trust?
This is a nice windfall. Don’t spend it all in one place. And this is the perfect time for even one session with a fee-only financial planner who will review the answers to those questions, and more, and give you advice you can trust.
