Pay off my charge use 401?

I have a 401k about $40,000 I have a charge card bill about $19,000 interest rate super high I just want to pay it off it’s ridiculous all this interest??? I am 74 married we have pension, social security we have other saved money in a certificate is this wise?

Well, you DEFINITELY want to pay off that card with the high rate — no matter where the money comes from!
I’d suggest using the savings you have to pay down the debt — and then disciplining yourself if possible so you don’t start using that card again soon!

Any withdrawals from your retirement accounts will be taxed as ordinary income, so if you go that route, be sure to have them withhold income taxes from any distributions. And then remember the Medicare Part B income limits, to make sure the withdrawals don’t cause higher monthly Part B and D premiums. Here’s a link to find those levels:
