Social security overpayment
I received the letter saying I owe them 41,000 for the past 12yrs. They lowered my social security monthly with out notifying me, went in to ss office twice, 1 phone call, told me to call back every 2 weeks for update on consideration. I’m 78, my husband is 82. Don’t know what to do, can you help?

I am SO sorry this happened to you. Since the new administration, I have found it impossible to get through to Social Security to try to solve problems. There is one group that does do this for a fee, (a percentage of what they save you) and I have spoken to them several times. But there are no guarantees on that process.
