Social security overpayment recovery
My mother has received letters from Social Security telling her that she owes over $62,000 to SSA because she also receives TRS. She has submitted a Request for Waiver of Overpayment Recovery several years ago and never heard anything. She recently received another letter demanding repayment with the option to complete another Request for Waiver of Overpayment. I’m wondering what advice you would have for her, or a recommendation of an attorney that can assist. She is located in Central Illinois, but we can get to Chicago if needed. Thank you.
