1099
Hi Terry,
I received my 1099 and only made $5034 for the year due to the pandemic and low refferals. Do I need to file that on my taxes if that is my only income? My husband and I file jointly and he is the sole provider. I wasn’t sure if I needed to file mine too or if there is a maximum or minimum $ that has to be filed on a 1099.
Terry Says
If you’re filing a joint return then you MUST include your own 1099 form. It’s income.
Did you receive your original stimulus and your current $600? If your joint income is under %150,000 you can claim both — Read this article.
And if your joint income is over that level, you might consider filing separately and claiming both stimulus payments on your own return! Have your tax preparer do it both ways, and see if you come out ahead by doing that.
