Ask Terry Questions 2019 tax refund

2019 tax refund

By Terry Savage on January 23, 2021 | Wild Card

In May 2020 I mailed my taxes. In December 2020 they sent a request for my W2 and Ira info.
I immediately sent info registered mail. I’m 82 years old and have never had a problem with my taxes. My refund is $4587.00 and I’m getting very concerned. When I check my IRS acct. online
all it says is that my taxes are being processed. I pretty much live on social security. My adjusted
gross income is $10,764. It can’t be that complicated. Please give me some advice!

Terry Says

It isn’t complicated, but the IRS is WAY behind. They will send you a check for interest on the refund, dating back to your filing date. Please write back to me if you haven’t received it by April 1st. I understand your need and hope it helps to know you are not alone in this problem.
