2024 Taxes – Amended return waiting for refund
Terry, We filed our joint return for 2024 in April (electronically) and received our refund in a short time period (within a few weeks). We then had to amend our federal return for ACA tax credit that was missed and filed an amended (1040X) return in early June of this year. The IRS website shows the return was received on June 4th, but hasn’t been adjusted yet. Anything we can do and is the IRS closed now due to the Government shutdown?

Don’t hold your breath! Even in good times, the IRS is very slow on processing anything manually. No way to rush that. But it’s good to know that they received your amended return.
