Ask Terry Questions 2nd stimulus

2nd stimulus

By Terry Savage on January 18, 2021 | Wild Card

There seems to be confusion about the second stimulus. One of them is that if your bank account was closed ,Not to do anything because IRS would automatically send you a check if the bank rejected the deposit . The other is that you would have to file a recovery rebate to be able to get your rejected stimulus. For those who are disabled with no income to report how is that possible to file income tax with the recovery rebate? And , I guess the question is which is the correct option or course to follow ? I don’t want to be a sitting duck while time is limited to the 15th deadline . And thank you.

Terry Says

You will definitely have to file a 2020 tax return to get the REFUNDABLE credit — even if your income is so low you aren’t required to file. Read this article for details.
