403(b) roth account

By Terry Savage on February 27, 2023 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I’ve been contributing to a 403(b) roth account with my employer. I will be retiring soon and just heard that with a 403(b) roth account I would still be required to take RMD’s when I turn 73. I had assumed all roth accounts were exempt from RMD’s. If that is not true, can I move this money to a regular roth account without any tax consequences?
Thank you.

Terry Says

Starting in 2024, there will be no RMDs required from a Roth40l(k) account. So I hope your 73rd birthday is NEXT year, and you will avoid even one RMD from that account!
