6 Common AT&T Shares – dated February 23, 1984 — current value?
Would you be able to advise me what these shares are worth and how I might go about cashing them in?

Only AT&T gets asked this question more frequently than I do! Here is a link to the AT&T Shareholder Relations page that explains the worksheets and information necessary to calculate the cost basis and current value of old shares. Of course, the original shares were split into the Baby Bells –and then there were subsequent mergers and acquisitions. So read the page carefully, and then work with either a broker or the Transfer Agent to either sell your shares, or have them reissued (in book form, not certificates) so you don’t have to go through this again at some future date!
