ads for bonus bank saving and checking
recently I saw a promotion online for Huntington Bank.. a $500. bonus to open a saving/checking account for a minimum amount. I went to the bank and showed them the printed out ad but they said they needed a code from the ad which they never gave and they could only give me $300. Is this not false advertising? Who regulates these banks.

I googled to find Huntington Bank promos and this is what I came up with. Click on this link to go to the page.]There were no offerings for $500.
But if you still have the ad, and if it wasn’t for a limited time, and you want to pursue this, then you can reach out to these regulators:
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: P.O. Box 4503, Iowa City, IA 52244; call 1-855-411-2372; go to www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint.
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation: Consumer Response Center, 1100 Walnut St., Box #11, Kansas City, MO 64106; call 1-877-275-3342; send a message at www2.fdic.gov/StarsMail/index.asp.
