I am 61 and want to understand how annuities or income streaming investments should fit into my retirement plans. I have about $700,000 in 401K money in a mixture of stocks and bonds.

Well, first of all — unless your 40l(k) offers annuities inside the plan (which few do) — this is a moot point.  The only time this will come up is when you retire and roll over your 40l(k) plan to an IRA.  At that point, an army of financial salespeople will try to sell you annuities.  They’ll be the winners!
