Approaching Retirement

By Terry Savage on October 16, 2022 | Financial Planning / Retirement

I am 69, flight attendant and hope to retire within a year
I have not looked at my 401k since Feb of this year – it was at $401,000
I am still putting 16% of my income into my 401k and am very concerned about continuing to do so
I have a small Roth IRA- $51,000 in Feb that I put the max into and between these 2 things and social security that I will start to collect next July that is the extent of my savings for retirement

Well, when you DO look in the coming weeks as your 3rd quarter statement arrives, you’ll find you lost a lot! Don’t panic. It will come back. What you don’t say in your post is how much money you have OUTSIDE your retirement plans — “chicken money” in savings such as bank CDs, etc.
You are at the perfect moment to have someone you can trust — A FIDUCIARY — Fee-Only financial advisor — look at your situation.
Please read this link at my website explaining how Wealthramp works. I know it will get you the help you need to plan a successful retirement.
PS Congratulations for being able to continue to do this demanding job for so long!!
