Attempted fraud via SBA loan

By Terry Savage on August 23, 2020 | Wild Card

A week ago I received an alert from Chase bank that there was a new credit inquiry with Experian from the Small Business Administration which I did not have any knowledge of. I was told by SBA that someone had applied for a construction loan using my SSN to a bank that was not mine. The loan was denied & SBA Is investigating. I made sure all three bureaus had a freeze. Fraud alerts were added to each (lasts 1 year) as well. I was also told to put on a security freeze with ChexSystems (3rd party credit bureau for banks). I contacted FTC and since the loan was stopped, no scam report was initiated, but I thought I would let you know. The only thing left to do is make sure that the the SBA inquiry gets removed from my credit report.
