Ask Terry Questions CD’s/money market

CD’s/money market

By Terry Savage on September 23, 2022 | Investments

I have 65 percent of my money in stocks, bonds in mutual funds, 35 percent in money market.
My IRA’s have dropped in 2022, should I reinvest at my age, 70, with the interest, dividends, short and long term capital gains, or move it into my money market or CD’s?

Terry Says

At this stage, that is likely too much exposure to the stock market — even though it has already dropped substantially. I would have told you that two days ago, before the most recent decline, but I’ve been swamped with questions. You’re losing in BOTH stocks and bonds. Maybe just sell 10% of your position in stocks and bonds — and move it now. Wait for the inevitable rally to move another 10%.
