You want to look at all your open accounts — AND any recent “inquiries’ from a bank or credit card company that you do not recognize! That indicates someone might have been trying to open accounts in your name. And if it’s a bank — CALL that bank to make sure an account wasn’t opened! It could be used to receive fraudulent benefits, using your SS number! Since bank accounts do not show up on your credit report, only inquiries, you would never know.
Then freeze your report so no one can do so in the future!
