Ask Terry Questions Child Stimulus Issues

Child Stimulus Issues

By Terry Savage on May 02, 2020 | Wild Card

I am a recipient of SSDI. I have 3 children that qualified for the child stimulus. 2 of these children are on SSI themselves. I filled out the non filer form correctly. Included all 3 names and social security numbers. I received my adult stimulus of $1200 on the 30th, but that was all. I know other who filled out the form and received theirs, but hearing of MANY who haven’t. These monies were supposed to be distributed now to help with financial strain. Are we ever going to receive this or were we just played? It makes ZERO sense for a person on SSDI/SSI that falls below the threshold to have to wait a year to get these monies.

Terry Says

Actually, you (and your friends) will likely receive the stimulus for children of SSI recipients in mid to late May. The final filing deadine for chidren of SSI recipients is May 5th.
And just to help any others who read this, here is the link;

That’s when the IRS will make another pass through the system to capture this group of SSI parents who filed for dependent children. So be patient!
