Corona Virus Payment
I have heard you discuss this before on WGN, but haven’t heard anything recently. I am a SS recipient, annual gross income about $76,000, filed jointly for 2019 and received my refund by mail approximately the end of February 2020. Have not received virus payment of $1200 as yet and do not know if I will receive an additional $1200 for my husband who was killed in March of 2019. Any answer or help on how I can check for myself. Whenever I go to IRS.gov, only info I get is that I am entitled to a payment, but when?

You should receive a check for yourself and one for your late husband. Likely it will be a check in the mail, based on your joint tax return. It could take a few weeks, so be patient. Do NOT go to the govt website — it’s a mess, and will drive you crazy!!
