Covid 19 Unemployment

By Terry Savage on May 03, 2020 | Wild Card

I am a part time hairdresser, out of work due to Covid 19. Shop closed on 3/21/20. Our shop owner applied for PPP loan and finally received it this week. Our owner will start paying us effective this week based upon my previous earnings.
Can I file for unemployment for the weeks where there was no pay? A few coworkers tried and said it was a nightmare.
Am I eligible for the $600 Covid 19 benefit for the weeks without pay?
Now that my employer is starting to pay us this week from the PPP, would I still be eligible for the Covid 19 benefit?

Terry Says

Your employer, by terms of the PPP, should issue you BACK PAY for the weeks you missed! I’m pretty sure that is part of the deal. But let me check into this for you.
