Covid Pay Rules
My daughter got transferred in Oct.2019 from Illinois to Florida With the same job position. She was furloughed at the end of March, In which state should she file for Covid pay and unemployment, Illinois or Florida ? She filed initially in Florida because that was her most recent state of employment, she only received partial payment. She contacted the state of Illinois and they told her to file a claim with them and to rescind the claim with Florida and pay them back what she already received. Please advise on the correct option. Thank you!

Why has it taken so long to ask this question? She missed out on $600/week! Unless she got money from Florida! At this point, Illinois is so messed up that I doubt she will get money from them. But she can try. Just don’t ask for money for the weeks she received benefits from Florida. And don’t send any money back to Florida. They are at least as screwed up as Illinois– and the states don’t talk to each other.
