Covid/vacation pay
Hi terry,
I’m home with Covid. My is making me lose my vacation in order to pay for time missed. I’ve got a vacation in 2 weeks. Now they want me to cancel my vacation. My store manager told that I should have buckled up. To not get tested and work. What are my rights? And can they do this. It’s a privately held company.

Your basic right is to quit your job — which millions of people (4.5 million) did last month because of bosses that don’t respect them, don’t pay them, or don’t accommodate their needs in other ways.
It’s a private business, so they have every right to limit your vacation. Why not use the time at home quarantining to apply for other jobs online? There’s a big demand for talented workers.
