Dear MS Savage,
Is there any role for (any type) Cryptocurrency in a balanced investment portfolio, either now, or in the foreseeable future?

Sure — IF you’re willing to take the risk of loss! These currencies are notoriously volatile. And be sure you are buying/investing with a reputable firm. If you lose your access info (or if the firm is a fraud) you could lose all your dollar investment into the crypto-currency. And NO, I’m not giving out recommendations on where to buy!!
